East Coast Trip- Part II: Boston
2:53 PMWe met up with the Duchein family in Boston where we were all staying at an airbnb. We checked in & then headed downtown to see a Red Sox game at Fenway Park! It was a little traumatic getting there! Traffic in Boston is crazy. Nate's dad was driving & Nicole was navigating. Her phone gps kept freezing & at one point there were 3 different roads you could take but the map wouldn't load so Derek just guessed & then it automatically added 30 minutes onto our driving time, so crazy!!! Then Lily started crying really hard & we realized she had a messy diaper, she kept crying so hard, so we pulled over to a hotel & I ran in to change her. Then she calmed down & we got to the park! It was really cool being at Fenway Park, seeing all of the intense fans, & watching the game! I was starving so Nate & I tried to get a steak sandwich right outside of the park & they were out & then almost wouldn't let us back in, I guess you can't leave the park! Luckily they let us back in!
Our 2nd day in Boston, we went on the Freedom Trail & it was awesome! I loved how you could just walk along the path & see so many historical sites! I really liked visiting the cemetery where Paul Revere was buried. We got lunch at Boston Public Market which was perfect because it had lots of different options & also had the best raspberry chocolate chip ice cream! Then we walked around Harvard! It was so cool seeing all of the different buildings. The library looked amazing, you had to be a student to go inside, but I peeked in & it looked so pretty! tons of marble & huge pillars all throughout the building! There was also an amazing cathedral/study hall that reminded me of Harry Potter. Maybe Lily will be a Harvard student one day, haha! All of the students looked pretty socially awkward, but super intelligent I'm sure! It was also cool walking along the waterfront & seeing the Harvard rowing team rowing back & forth!
The next day we went to the aquarium, fun but way too crowded. Then we did a harbor cruise which was so nice to be on the water. Lily really liked looking out at the water. Then we ate in little Italy & got the best cannoli. Then the next morning we went to the JFK museum which was super interesting. They had a video you watched first that was really interesting & then a museum with tons of items that you could look at. I liked seeing Jackie Kennedy's dresses & jewelry & the gifts that people had given them. They even had one of JFK's sailboats outside! Then we headed to Rhode Island!
